 e invite others to join us who find that their own response to God is similar to ours. They also know that together we are able to do what we cannot do alone. The Tacoma Dominicans have two modes of belonging. Vowed Commitment is for those women who feel called to Dominican Life and charism and want to make a lifelong commitment within this community by profession of the three vows of obedience, poverty, and celibacy. The process of incorporation involves five steps in which the woman and the community mutually agree on moving to each next step.1) Pre - Candidacy is a time of becoming acquainted with the community and its life and mission through participating in events and having regular communication with a contact sister. 2) After an application and acceptance to the next stage, a woman becomes a Candidate and would live with the Tacoma Dominicans while continuing mission, study and growth. 3) As a Novice a woman spends a focused time of prayer, study and mission within community and discerns her decision to profess vows. 4) In Temporary Vows a woman lives her life as a full member of the Tacoma Dominicans. 5) Eventually the sister would request to profess Perpetual Vows in which she becomes a permanent member of the Tacoma Dominicans and continues her lifelong transformation in Christ.  hen we have our Associate Covenant which is designed for women and men to share in and live out the charism, life, and mission of the Tacoma Dominicans within their own vocation and lifestyle.
