This wonderful group was born in 1992 when a few caring people came together to help homeless cats and dogs and their human rescuers. They care for approximately 350 homeless cats and dogs at their cageless, strictly no-kill shelter located an hour away from Los Angeles. Many of them have been so traumatized they may never be adopted, and though that is a sad situation, the animals still come out the winners, because they are welcome to stay with them forever. They believe there is a home somewhere for every last one of their waiting-to-be-adopted guys. Please visit their website and see for yourself all the wonderful things they are helping to bring about. And if you can help, by all means do. You can volunteer your time to help care for the animals, help by fostering and of course make a monetary donation. And as we always say "please spay/neuter your pets".C.A.R.E Cat/Canine Assistance, Referral and Education' - January 2002 Site of the Month'

Niki's F.E.L.V Rescue - June 2002 'Site of the Month'"Niki's F.E.L.V. Rescue is a rescue for feline leukemia positive (FeLV+) cats/kittens. Because so many people are not familiar with the disease, these furbabies are often euthanized once they are diagnosed positive for FeLV. This should not mean an automatic death sentence. A large majority of them can live long and happy lives symptom-free with good food and a low-stress environment." Niki is one of the most caring, compassionate people I know, dealing with this disease on a daily basis day after day, month after month, year after year is difficult at best, yet she keeps taking in and loving these hard to place sweeties. Please help in any way you can, drop in and make a donation. Whether you donate supplies or money, no donation is ever too small and every little bit helps. If your looking for a FeLV+ companion for your kitty, look no further ... they could be waiting here just for you! Write Niki and let her know you support her, and please the two most important things any pet owner can do is Spay/Neuter and Vaccinate your pets.
Right now we are in the middle of kitten/puppy season, the time of year when it becomes all too evident how irresponsible so many people are. This is the time of year when soooooo many healthy innocent baby cats and puppies are put to death, for one reason only, there just aren't any homes for them. So unfortunately the kitties that test positive for FeLV, FIV, or FIP aren't even considered by many to be adoptable and a positive test is in many cases an automatic death sentence. This is not necessary, we have a FREE resource for anyone finding themselves with a positive kitty, that needs to find this kitty a new home for whatever reason. Please visit and post your positive kitty, there are people out there who are looking for a companion to their positive kitty, so please give your kitty a chance at life, come post an ad, you may be saving a life. And don't forget, 33% of kitties that test positive, fight off the disease and become negative, so give your kitty a chance at life, post an ad with us!!Post Adoptable FeLV/FIV/FIP Cats/Kittens - July 2002 'Site of the Month'
